N255m car scandal: Presidential panel indicts Stella Oduah

According to a report by Punch, the committee set up by President Jonathan to probe the N255m bulletproof car scandal in the aviation ministry has indicted Aviation Minister, Ms. Stella Oduah.

It was gathered  in Abuja on Sunday  that the report of the presidential committee tallied  with some findings of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation on the scandal. On  December 19, 2013, the House endorsed the report of its committee and agreed that the minister breached the 2013 Appropriation Act.

It was learnt on Sunday that the  panel, like that of  the House, also discovered that the minister’s approval for the cars exceeded the N100m limit.

A top government source, who disclosed this to Punch on Sunday, said although the committee indicted Oduah , it did not say whether she should be sacked or not.

 But sources told Punch  that there was every likelihood of the President using the cabinet shake -up that would follow the presentation of his ministerial list to the National Assembly to relieve himself of Oduah’s continued presence in his government.

Beyonce Declines Kim Kardashian's Offer To Be A Bridesmaid

LOL, Kim asked Beyonce to be a bridesmaid at her wedding to Kanye West but Beyonce turned her down flat. According to the latest issue of Star Magazine:

“Beyonce is saying “I don’t” to Kim Kardashian’s invite to be a bridesmaid, leaving Kim humiliated. “Kim has been boasting to pals that Bey wants to be a bridesmaid, but Beyonce turned her down flat,”  while Beyonce plays nice with Kim, she finds her family unbearable.”
 Beyonce doesn’t really care for the Kardashian family and she barely even talks to Kim, so she was shocked when she got a voicemail asking to be a bridesmaid.
“Beyonce doesn’t even take Kim’s calls, so she was shocked when she got a voicemail begging her to be a bridesmaid. This is a woman who doesn’t care how close a friend you are, all she cares about are big names.”

Yaya Toure named CAF African Footballer of the Year again

 

The 30-year-old wins the award for the third successive year, with only Samuel Eto'o boasting similar, after again shining at the Etihad Stadium for Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has been named the CAF African Footballer of the Year for a third successive time.

The Cote d'Ivoire international was announced as the winner of the award in a ceremony in Nigeria, beating off competition from John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba - who came second and third, respectively.

Toure is only the second player to win the award for three consecutive years, with Samuel Eto'o claiming the prize between 2003 and 2005.

The recipient of the award is decided by national team coaches and technical directors in Africa - with Eto'o the most-honoured individual with four.

The 30-year-old already has 13 goals to his name this season, three more than his highest-ever season total, as he thrives under Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium.

Toure was also the only African player included on the 23-man shortlist for Fifa's World Player of the World award.

He was joined by Chelsea's Jon Obi Mikel in the Caf Team of the Year, along with Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Borussia Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Battle For 'King Of African Football' Crown

The annual CAF Awards enters its 22nd edition this year and the Awards Gala will take place Lagos, Nigeria.
On Thursday, January 9, 2013; the King of African football will be unveiled at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos; amongst the trio of Yaya Toure, past winner of the last two editions; his Ivorian counterpart Didier Drogba and John Obi Mikel (Nigeria).
From 1992 to 2012, from Ghana’s Abedi Pele to Ivorian Toure, 14 players have laid claim to the most prestigious individual honour in African football. Eto’o has been crowned an unprecedented four times – 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010, whilst Senegalese forward, El Hadji Diouf won the award twice in succession; 2001 and 2002 just as Toure in 2011 and 2012.
However, the first player to have been named CAF African footballer of the Year on two occasions remain ex-Nigeria captain Nwankwo Kanu, in 1996 and 1999 before Drogba duplicated the feat in 2006 and 2009.
